According to the company, as part of its collaboration with makeup artist Julissa Vera, high-quality units are being provided for transgender women and men of color in the Black community. It can be a lot of fun to experiment with and purchase wigs, but as someone who enjoys wearing wigs, I've always been curious about what people do with high-quality units that they no longer want or need. In lieu of this, you could donate the extras to a friend or family member, or, if you're lucky, you could sell them and make a profit off of your initial purchase. Other options include giving them to the Black transgender-led collective For The Gworls (FTG), which is currently promoting their latest initiative, Laced Together (which provides free wigs to Black trans people), or to a local homeless shelter or soup kitchen.

Initially, Julissa Veras came up with the concept for the initiative, which she was already putting together on her own as a makeup artist who was donating wigs when she came up with the idea. She would reach out to friends who had extra wigs lying around and were willing to part with them for a reasonable price in order to find wigs for her needs. She would then hand out the wigs to transgender Black women in her community who were in desperate need of a new hairstyle, as she had done.

Project Safety Initiative: The primary motivation for the project's implementation was the desire to promote safety among employees. Project Safety Initiative:Transgender women, particularly Black trans women, have taught the author firsthand how difficult it can be to navigate the world as a trans person. She has also learned firsthand how even something as simple as wearing a wig can have an impact on a trans person's daily well-being. As a result of her conviction that the world is not changing at a fast enough pace, she sought to find a way to make a positive contribution to that transformation.
