Repair Your Sliding Closet Doors
Examine the following sliding closet door symptoms and then implement the solution that best fits your needs. The sliding closet doors are sagging and swing in and out. The first thing to look for is the type of rail system that your sliding closet door uses to slide.
Check to see if the screws that hold the guides in place need to be tightened. If the screw hole appears to be stripped, move the guide an inch to the right and drill a new hole.

Sliding closet doors fall off tracks
Check the alignment of your closet doors first. Examine the gaps on the top and bottom from a distance of about five feet.
There should be a consistent and even separation along the top and bottom. If you notice an uneven gap, you will need to raise or lower one of the sides. You can then address the issue of your closet doors jumping off the track.
Depending on the type of door, locate the brace that holds the sagging wheel (roller). You can simply adjust the mounting screw with a screwdriver. Don't worry, that will be the only screw you see. No mounting screw?
It's possible that your brace lacks this single-mounting screw. If this is the case, you'll need to manually move the brace and wheel assembly into place before tightening two small screws attached to the inside of the door. If none of the above fixes the alignment or door hopping off the track, it's probably time to replace the wheel mechanism entirely.
A dirty or bent track is another source of this issue. Examine your sliding closet door track and vacuum or brush out any debris, gunk, or dirt. The most common contaminants are carpet fibres and dust.
If heavy objects have been moved in and out of the closet, the metal track may have been damaged, preventing the wheel from rolling smoothly and evenly.

Sliding closet doors jam and don’t slide.
Examine the closet door rollers and braces using some of the suggestions above. After you've ensured that the doors are level, tighten everything down.
